PROGRAM UPDATE

15 May, 2008

One down; one to go! The Spring Games at West Point was festive and the weather couldn’t have been more splendid! Let’s see what this weekend brings…

Please read carefully below, as there is a lot of info for the upcoming Spring Games East!!!

Here’s a look at what’s happened and what’s upcoming in the Valley…

UPCOMING EVENTS:

This event is a track & field competition for the athletes in Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess
counties, respectively. Registrations are done and in. Over 550 athletes are registered to compete in Track & Field. PRAY FOR SUN!!!!

The concession will be open at the event. Please know this concession is run by the High School and had NO affiliation with Special Olympics….hence, we do NOT have anything to do with pricing or menu! The prices are ALWAYS very reasonable…

Below is a tentative schedule for the day…we thought this might just be helpful. It IS “subject to change” as it is a preliminary schedule, please treat it as such!

NO lunch will be provided (hence the concession)…This event WILL go on rain or shine! Please be prepared for all situations.

As always, athletes MUST be dressed in athletic attire…jeans and/or shoes/work boots does NOT constitute athletic attire!!!!!

PAST EVENTS

10 May, 2008 – Spring Games WEST – West Point- USMAcademy
This event was stellar in all respects. The cadets did a wonderful job, as always, in providing a great competitive environment for our athletes. Officers of all ranks were seen throughout the day to present the medals and awards. All four hundred plus of our athletes entered in track, aquatics and adaptive games were provided with outstanding facilities and great competitive quality. In turn, our athletes provided inspiration and, in some cases, awe. What more can you ask for in a single day?

Thanks to our key volunteers that come back, year after year, to get things started and help it run so smoothly. You are the BEST! Charlie & Sue, Carol, Beth, Chris, Bug, Marzie, Eileen, Mr. Jones, Kelly, and of course, my “Boyz”. (Next year, guys, don’t futz with the lock, huh?)

PIONEER SPORTS SCHOOL LEAGUE

Mamaroneck will host the second Volleyball Tournament on Wednesday, May 21, 2008.

Ardsley has CONFIRMED the dinner/dance for the athletes on Thursday, 29 May, 2008. There will be a D.J. and the event will start at about 3:30 – 4:00pm and end prior to 6:00pm on that date. I will confirm the exact location prior to the event (either the high school or middle school).

Thanks for your patience!
