Past Events

Regional Floor Hockey Team

This past weekend saw fifteen teams and over 25 volunteers from the Knights of Columbus and other volunteer groups put on a great Hockey competition.  Thanks to Mat for getting the facility.  Thanks to Charlie, Nancy, Sue, Paul, Valerie, Chris, Dave, and Gene for coming over from Rockland to run and officiate the event.  You guys are the BEST!

This event saw teams from Westchester, Rockland, and Ulster compete in four divisions.  A great time was had by all.

Regional Floor Hockey Skills

This past week and last weekend saw about 80 athletes compete in two separate Floor Hockey Skills events.  These events were held to host all of these competitors.  We'd like to thank both Mat Longo and Donna Asher for securing facilities to ensure the best competition venues.  Also, we like to thank the volunteer groups from the K of C and another group of volunteers from a Mt. Vernon parish.

 The Xperience Tennis Competition

Xperience Tennis

This competition took place in Charlottesville, Virginia.  Four of the region's tennis players were invited to attend this prestigious tournament.  Thanks to Dina and Ted for giving up their time to coach these guys.  Tom, Joey, John, and Nori all played a ton of elite tennis against players from around the country.  All of them came home with medals.  They were also afforded the opportunity of a tennis clinic with the UVA men's & women's tennis teams. An outstanding Xperience was had by all!

Regional Unified Bowling

This event saw 80+ paired athletes and partners compete in bowling.  Unified medals were presented to all at the conclusion of the competition.  Thanks to Vito at JV Lanes for accommodating our athletes.  As always, both athletes and partners raved about the great time they had at this event!

Regional Physical Fitness

This even saw over 100 athletes from Westchester and Dutchess counties compete in up to ten events.  Special thanks to several volunteer groups that made this event successful.  Too, thanks to Mat L. for getting the facility and hosting the event.

 Winter Sport Coach Conference

Thanks to Kevin Riley for hosting the event and getting the caterer.  This conference saw over 35 coaches attend.  New coaches were presented the materials to become certified S.O. coaches in Floor Hockey and Snow Shoeing.  Special thanks to Charlie J. for certifying our newest clinicians in Floor Hockey.  Also, recertification was done in two different areas.  In excess of 15 coaches attended these advanced sessions in Winter Sports Rules and Team Assessments.

Regional Bowling

This even was held at Colonial Lanes Orange County.  Special thanks to Jonathan, the owner, whom always gives up excellent service and a quality experience for our athletes.  Over 130 athletes registered and competed in this event.  A great time was had by all.

Regional Feedback Meetings

We offered and held three meetings in Dutchess, Westchester and Rockland counties as the end of the Fall season to assess our seasonal effectiveness.  Attendance at these meetings was limited, at best.  These meetings are offered as an outlet for YOU, the coach, athlete, volunteer, advocate, whomever, to voice any and all concerns you may have regarding the programs we offer.  Please feel free to come out to the next one(s) offered in your area.  Let us know what your thoughts are.

Thanks!

Regional Volleyball Competitions

These events saw over 175 athletes compete in both team and a separate skills competition.  Thanks to the Hommocks school and Suzzane E. for hosting and running the tournament.  As always, the volunteers and officials were great!  Thanks.  The athletes had a wonderful time and all received either medals or ribbons for their athletic performance on the court.   Teams from Dutchess and Westchester were present.  Thanks, too, to Donna A. for running and hosting the skills competition for those 3+ athletes.  All of your hard work is greatly appreciated.
