it’s apparently raining both inside and outside our office today!
Regardless, it’s getting to be that time of the year when there is hardly time to take notice of such trivial things as the weather. Again, please with just a week before “crunch-time” a quick reminder… please check your athletes Meds/Cons for expirations!

UPCOMING EVENTS:
April 21, 2007 – Regional EAST Time Trials – at Putnam Valley HS 8:30a
This is the qualifying event for Spring Games EAST. IT
looks, today, like the weather will be great for this
date. Here’s to hoping the weatherman gets this one
right for once. Should be 55+ and semi-sunny. Far
better than the past couple of days of deluge we’ve
been faced with. Any questions of concerns regarding
this event should be called in immediately to the office
(845) 878-9722. Registrations were due already.
Also, all nominations for the Spring Games awards
were also due in. IF you haven’t gotten them in yet,
DO IT NOW!!!
May 5, 2007 – Regional Spring Games WEST at West Point – 8:30am
This is a track & field event that includes Adaptive
Games and Aquatics for the following counties:
Rockland, Orange, Ulster & Sullivan. Registrations for
this event are due at the end of this week: 20 April!
This means that all Houghton award nominations as
also due on the 20th. Please be timely. It’s not like
we’re sitting around here with nothing to do but grant
extensions on deadlines. We have event after event
to plan for, heat for and pack for! Thank you, in
advance, for your consideration.
PLEASE NOTE: BANNERS/SIGNS will NO LONGER be provided. If you wish to have a banner to parade in with or post on a tent, you are welcome to BRING YOUR OWN!
May 19, 2007 – Regional Spring Games EAST – Mahopac HS 8:30am
This is a track & field event inclusive of Adaptive Games
for the following counties: Westchester, Putnam &
Dutchess. Registrations for this event will be CLEARLY
POSTED on the return results from Time Trials. Be sure
to heed the directions in the packets that you will
receive no later than Tuesday, 22 April, 2007.
All nominations for the Herzog and Cutignola Awards
are currently DUE! IF you have any lying about, GET
THEM IN ASAP!
PAST EVENTS:
April 14, 2007 – Regional Basketball, Powerlifting, Aquatics @
Rockland Community College
This event saw the nicest day in April thus far, and we
were indoors all day….go figure! Thanks to RCC for
hosting the event. Special thanks to Charlie & Vinny
for their efforts in setting the whole thing up!
This event saw 14 Basketball Teams, 50+ B’ball skills
athletes, 35+ Aquatics athletes and 30 Powerlifters
strut their stuff!
My personal thanks to Jim R. and his powerlifting
crew, Mr. Reid, Kris B., Sue J., Charlie, Paul & Valerie,
and Carol M. You guys are the best, and you’re always
there, start to finish. Thanks again, to all that gave up
their time to make the day a success for the athletes of
the HVR!
PSSL – Pioneer Sports School League
Volleyball Tournament will be hosted at Mamaroneck on:
Wednesday, 23 May, 2007.
Basketball is about wrapped up. The season saw some really good competitions. Ardsley has another game scheduled for 24 April at home against White Plains.
Good luck to them with their maiden cycle!
Washingtonville has shown interest in joining the Pioneer league in the 2007-8 season, as has the Pearl River district. I will keep everyone posted as to any new developments as they occur. For now, all remains status quo.

DEVELOPMENT
2nd Annual Westchester Miles for Medals Walk
Sunday, April 29
Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park - Yorktown Heights
Registration - 9:00 / Walk - 10:00
Create a walk team with friends, family, and co-workers and walk approximately 2 miles to help raise funds and awareness for the Hudson Valley Region. All athletes will be given a free Miles for Medals T-shirt on the day of the walk. Enjoy refreshments, raffles, and more!
